This September marked the inaugural year for the aptly-named Oasis Festival, a house and techno-tinted weekender in Morocco, Africa. While around two thousand people attended in year one, a whole lot more had their interest ignited.
Held at the Fellah Hotel on the outskirts of Marrakech, Oasis sits between the Sahara Desert and the Atlas Mountains—in short, not your average festival setting. Now the festival has announced its return on the weekend of 16-18 September 2016, with a first announcement of artists coming soon.
2015’s edition featured some of the scene’s finest DJs in a close-quarters poolside setting. Carl Craig tag-teamed with Gerd Janson, Alex Boman played at sunset, DJ Harvey stretched over four hours, and Cassy and tINI went back-to-back, to name just a few highlights. The lineup also included the likes of the Pachanga Boys, Will Saul, Guy Gerber, Ellen Allien, Danny Daze and Derrick Carter. While brief, the 2016 trailer below should acquaint with most of the festival’s charms.
