It’s been boiling away for a year, and now Steve Aoki has finally dished up his collaboration with 2 Chainz and DVBBS, “Without U”.

The EDM star and Dim Mak boss opened the lines of communication with 2 Chainz several years ago to talk about a potential project. The pair finally came together in early 2016 with Canadian electronic duo DVBBS to cut “Wouldn’t Be Me Without You,” the title for which has been trimmed to “Without U”. The song got its live debut at Ultra Music Festival 2017 and it’ll appear on Aoki’s upcoming album Kolony.

“Without U” is the latest in a bulging list of collaborations orchestrated by Aoki, including “Just Hold On” with One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson and “I Can’t Lose” with Lil Uzi Vert. More recently, Aoki and Lauren Jauregui of Fifth Harmony announced they had something “unexpected” cooking.

Aoki with get another chance to spin the new tune at the fifth annual hip-hop-heavy JMBLYA fest on May 5 and 6 in Texas, where he’s booked to play alongside Chance the Rapper, Gucci Mane, Migos, Lil Uzi Vert, 6lack and others.
