Even 20 years into the game, Martin Buttrich still has plenty up his sleeve. After celebrating his two-decade career milestone last year with a world tour, the veteran producer is launching a new record label, Rhythm Assault.
The imprint joins Buttrich’s other label, Desolat, which he began with longtime collaborator Loco Dice back in 2007; over the years, it has hosted releases by a variety of underground artists such as Audiofly, Robert Dietz, Butch, Dubfire, tINI, Guti, and others. Rhythm Assault, on the other hand, will be home solely to Buttrich’s productions–“free from the constraints of rigorously organized and planned imprints,” as stated in the official press release.
Upon the new imprint’s announcement, he’s also shared that Rhythm Assault’s first release will be in the form of a two-volume project called Collaborator, which features collaborations with Loco Dice, Carl Craig, DJ Tennis, Timo Maas, The Martinez Brothers, Guy Gerber, Guti, and more. According to Buttrich, the project has been “three years in the making.”
One of its tracks, a team-up with Mathew Jonson called “Synchronicity,” is streaming in full below, and it’s available to purchase exclusively over at Beatport Pro.
