Despite the imposition of stringent limitations, HARD’s Day Of The Dead still plans to rage on this fall, and the festival countdown has commenced with the first of its artist mixtape series.
Kicking off the series is marshmello, an artist who is largely anonymous despite various attempts by fans and blogs to uncover his identity. The producer has had a huge year thus far, growing a sizeable following on Soundcloud with a sound he calls ‘deep fluffy hybrid melodic sexy trap house’ that’s earned him an official remix of Jack U’s “Where Are U Now,” a guest mix on Diplo’s BBC Radio 1 show and a booking at HARD Holy Ship 2016.
Ahead of his festival debut at Day Of The Dead, the enigma’s ‘Mini Marshmello Mix’ makes for a solid preview of his performance, going 30 minutes deep into the clouds with his signature ‘fluffy’ trap and party-starting hip-hop primed for festival-sized speakers. Get into it below.
HARD Day Of The Dead returns to the Pomona Fairplex on October 31 and November 1 with artists such as Deadmau5, Skrillex, Claptone, Nero, Flying Lotus, Gesaffelstein, Future, Method Man and Redman, Jets (Machinedrum and Jimmy Edgar), Hot Natured, Groove Armada and Luciano. Tickets are available on here.
